DIY: Gumball Candy Dish

Who doesn't love candy?  We certainly love candy and that makes this Gumball Candy Dish from Wrapcandy Crafts right up our alley!

Materials:

1 (one) 4″ Terra Cotta Pot
2 (two) 4″ Terra Cotta Saucers
1 (one) Bubble Bowl...Found at Walmart sku# 3100927117
1 (one) Wooden Ball – 1 1/4″
1 (one) E-6000 GLUE  

1 (one) Spray Can Clear Gloss ( Triple Thick – Rustoleum , your choice )
Acrylic Paint

 

Assembly:

1. Paint Both Terra Cotta pot and saucers –and knob- let dry overnight..
( if you were going to add a graphic and/or face plate , you would do this after the paint has dried overnight )
** Note – Face Plate directions below **

2. Place Terra Cotta Pot upside down…apply E6000 to the bottom rim of the pot..
apply Saucer-  let dry OVERNIGHT.

Add Wooden Ball to Saucer number 2, with the E6000 (let dry overnight)

4. Add lid to top of Bubble Bowl

 

FACEPLATE:

The face plate size is pretty much up to you… I use the dimensions either
2 1/4 x 2 1/4″… choice is yours…

DIY: Candy Cane Mice

Thank goodness for Martha Stewart around Christmas time!  I hope you love her crafts for the holidays as much as we do.  I think pretty much everything she has on her site is adorable and / or gorgeous.  

These are such fun little mice candy cane covers it is a touch ridiculous how much I love them.  I can't wait to give these a shot!  What do you think?  Can you see yourself making a dozen of these cuties and giving them to co-workers as a surprise on their desk for the holidays?

DIY: Yarn and Candy Cane Ornaments

Hostess with the Mostest is our featured DIY Ornament tutorial for today!  We love how fun these candy cane and yarn ornaments look.  They seem super easy also, which is a bonus.

Ready for some super easy holiday DIY? These cute Yarn & Candy Cane Ornaments are a breeze to whip up!
This was a happy accident that occurred when I was trying to figure out how to make regular yarn ball flowers look more “holiday-ish” for a Christmas table centerpiece. I’m still planning to make some sort of “bouquet” from these, but am also loving how they look on the their own – either as hanging ornaments or just as “sitting” decor for the table or tree!

YARN & CANDY CANE ORNAMENTS
You’ll Need:
- 2″ styrofoam balls
- yarn in your favorite colors
- mini candy canes
- hot glue gun
Directions:
1. Insert 5 mini candy canes in a circle around the ball. Try to space them out somewhat evenly, but it doesn’t need to be perfect!
2. One at a time, remove each candy cane from it’s styrofoam hole, add a little hot glue to the hole, then stick the candy cane back in… this will ensure that the candy canes stay put.
3. Start wrapping yarn randomly around the ball, weaving in between the candy canes until the entire ball is covered. Trim the yarn and secure the end with a small dab of hot glue.
That’s it! Add a ribbon loop if you want to use these as hanging ornaments. You can also try this idea with regular sized candy canes and 4″ styrofoam balls to create GIANT ornaments!
